Warlock Meadery is a small family business operating out of our garden shed. We produce traditional Mead in the heart of Somerset using traditional and modern recipes.
About Mead - the drink of gods!:
Mead is thought to be one of the oldest known fermented beverages. Evidence of this honey wine has been discovered in vessels dating back as far as 7000 BC. Since then, mead has been brewed and enjoyed throughout Europe, Africa, and Asia, and holds a significant place in Norse mythology.
Warlock Mead is crafted in small batches at the foot of the Quantock Hills in Somerset, blending both traditional and contemporary recipes.
As each batch is handmade, no two meads will have the same flavour, which we believe enhances the unique charm of our product!
How do you drink Mead? Mead can be enjoyed in a variety of ways, including:
➊ Neat
Mead can be served chilled or at room temperature, depending on the type. Some mead tastes better
chilled, while others should be served at room temperature.
➋ On the rocks
Mead can be served on the rocks with or without garnishes.
➌ In cocktails
Mead can be used as an ingredient in cocktails such as wine highballs, spritzers, and sangrias.
➍ Warmed
Mead can be served warm at 50–55°C, but it should not be overheated as it will start to foam and lose
flavour.
